To navigate and to find location we can use GPS (Global Positioning System) Technology. To understand the basic concept of technology we have to remember two keywords.
They are 1) Trilateration (Principle) and 2) Geofence. GPS receiver can understand its position by itself through some programmed mathematical algorithm. Similar systems are GLONASS, GALILEO etc. Now day's mobile phones are facilitated with this amazing technology.
